Photo instructions:
Your photos will be treated confidentially. Please make sure they meet the following requirements:
-
Plain (single-colour) background: choose a neutral background. Ideally a closed door or a white wall in a well-lit room, with even lighting on both the left and right side (so no lamp or sunlight coming from one side).
-
File size: max. 1 MB per photo (smaller is better and easier to email). Please resize the photo to under 1 MB but over 100 KB.
-
No selfies: someone else must take the photos (selfies distort the angles).
-
Required angles (total: 5 photos):
-
1 front view
-
2 side/profile views (90 degrees)
-
2 three-quarter views (45 degrees)
-
Body area guidelines:
-
Breasts: from the collarbone to below the navel (without the face).
-
Abdomen: from the collarbone to the upper thighs.
-
Face or nose: include the face + neck only (do not include the body/chest area in the photo).
Positioning:
-
Your nose, eyes, shoulders and feet should face the same direction (do not turn your neck—turn your whole body for the different angles).
Appearance:
-
Hair pulled back/tight: make sure no hair covers any part of your face.
-
No make-up so we can assess your natural features (light make-up is okay).
-
Facial hair/beard: if there is significant facial hair, please remove it before taking the photos. Accurate simulation of results is not possible with facial hair.
Head position:
-
Do not look up; look straight into the camera.
-
Make sure the eye–ear plane is perfectly horizontal: the upper edge of the tragus (middle part of the ear) should be level with the lower part of the eye socket (Frankfort horizontal plane). You can achieve this by imagining a stack of books resting on top of your head.
Additional requirements:
-
Nose: also include a base view (showing both nostrils). Can you breathe well through your nose? Do you have sinusitis?
-
Chin/Jaw: include a photo where your teeth are as visible as possible, with your teeth together, so we can assess the bite. Have you had teeth removed, dental implants, or root canal treatments? Have you worn braces in the past? Do you have pain in the jaw joint (TMJ)?
